THE ISTHMUS OF AUCKLAND, WITH IT'S EXTINCT VOLCANOS, 1859
ARTWORK BY FERDINAND VON HOCHSETTER & A WELKER
Undulating shades of orange and pink describe the volcanic terrain of Tāmaki Makaurau showing scoria and cones, basaltic lava streams, and areas of clay and sandstone. Initially drawn in 1859 and in german, this map is one of many that depicted Aotearoa's geography for a European market.
Lettuce is proud to collaborate with Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki to release these two wonderful new puzzles. These puzzles allow you to get up close with two pieces of fantastic New Zealand art by two different artists.
